The workshop was facilitated by Wasim Alhaj, with the participation of 15 representatives from NGOs and relevant stakeholders from Aleppo and Idleb.

The workshop focused on reviewing the current legal framework governing the work of non-governmental organizations and discussing practical proposals to update the law in line with current humanitarian, developmental, and civic needs in Syria.

Key Themes

  • Reviewing and assessing NGO Law No. 93 of 1952.

  • Evaluating the current legal framework for NGO work.

  • Discussing legal and administrative challenges facing organizations.

  • Developing proposals to modernize civil society legislation.

  • Strengthening coordination between government bodies and NGOs.

  • Building a more enabling, flexible, and effective legal environment for civil society.

Key Outputs
