Podcast Production Workshop for Digital Storytelling

Event Summary

On 8 April 2025, Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA organized a three-day workshop on the basics of podcast production, delivered by Abdullah Al Ahmad and facilitated by Kawthar Taqiqa. The workshop engaged 119 participants and focused on building practical skills in audio content creation.

 

Workshop Focus
The workshop introduced participants to podcast concepts, planning, scriptwriting, recording, editing, interview management, and publishing. It also highlighted the role of podcasts as a tool for youth expression, knowledge sharing, and community engagement.

 

Key Outputs
Participants produced creative podcast samples, applied the skills learned during the sessions, and worked collaboratively on writing, recording, and editing. A WhatsApp group was also created to exchange audio files, scripts, resources, and feedback after the workshop.

 

Key Learning
The workshop showed that podcasting can be produced with accessible tools when participants have clear ideas, teamwork, and basic technical guidance. It also strengthened participants’ confidence in voice expression and digital storytelling.

 

Impact
The training created a collaborative learning space for young Syrians from different backgrounds and encouraged them to use audio media to share stories, discuss social issues, and produce meaningful digital content.
