On April 7, 2023, the Shabab PRO Platform, one of the projects of Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA, organized a seminar titled “Political Awareness amid Current Transformations and the Role of Youth.”

The seminar was presented by Dr. Nahed Ghazoul, a researcher and activist in human rights and civil society, President of the Damascus National Council and its France Coordination Office, Secretary-General of the Syrian National Dome, and a member of the Syria Salvation Team. It was moderated by journalist Aisha Sabri, Content Manager at Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA and supervisor of the Shabab PRO team.

The session explored the meaning and principal sources of political awareness and highlighted its importance for young people, particularly university students. It also examined the dual role of social media in expanding political knowledge while potentially contributing to misinformation and distorted perceptions.

The discussion addressed practical ways to strengthen young people’s political awareness through continuous learning, critical thinking, and active engagement with political issues.
