On March 12, 2023, the Shabab PRO Platform, one of the projects of Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA, hosted a political seminar titled “A Political Reading of U.S.–Syrian Relations.”

The seminar was presented by Marah Al-Baqai, an academic, international policy adviser, and member of the White House Correspondents’ Association in Washington, D.C. It was moderated by journalist Aisha Sabri, Content Manager at Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA and supervisor of the Shabab PRO team.

The session highlighted the importance of strengthening young people’s understanding of U.S. policy toward Syria and its influence on the Syrian context. It also examined the development of U.S.–Syrian relations across three key dimensions: political, humanitarian, and military.

The seminar provided participants with a clearer understanding of the factors shaping U.S. engagement in Syria and the regional and international dynamics influencing bilateral relations.
