It also explored the different perspectives of women and men on the barriers that limit women’s participation in public and community life.
Key Themes
Women’s empowerment in conflict and recovery contexts.
Social, economic, and political barriers to women’s participation.
The gap between family roles and public roles.
Economic and leadership empowerment.
The role of men and communities in supporting empowerment.
Digital tools and women’s participation in public life.
Key Outputs
The activity generated field-based insights from surveys and dialogue sessions, including a comparative analysis between 2022 and 2025. It also produced multi-level programmatic recommendations and a practical framework for designing context-sensitive interventions on women’s empowerment in Syria.
Impact
The activity highlighted that women’s empowerment is a long-term, multidimensional process that requires economic opportunities, leadership pathways, supportive social environments, safe digital participation, and policies that move beyond short-term activities toward sustainable change.
