Overview
On 6 November 2025, Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA implemented a two-day physical workshop in Aleppo titled “The Roles of Cultural Actors in Local Environments,” in cooperation with Dar Al-Haq Writing Initiative. The workshop was delivered and facilitated by Malak Touma, with the participation of 30 participants from cultural, civic, and community backgrounds.

Workshop Focus
The workshop explored the concept of culture, its levels and components, and the role of cultural actors in shaping local community dynamics. It also focused on understanding how cultural initiatives can contribute to peacebuilding, social cohesion, and community participation.

The workshop strengthened cooperation between cultural actors and civil society, and highlighted culture as a practical tool for social change, peacebuilding, and community cohesion in Aleppo.
