On 2 December 2025, Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA implemented a two-day physical workshop in Aleppo titled “Dialogue Management and Facilitation,” in cooperation with Dar Al-Haq Writing Initiative. The workshop was delivered and facilitated by Malak Touma, with the participation of 30 participants.

Workshop Focus
The workshop focused on strengthening participants’ ability to organize and facilitate dialogue sessions effectively, while creating safe and inclusive spaces that encourage expression, active listening, and constructive exchange among participants with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Key Outputs
Participants gained practical skills in planning and managing complete dialogue sessions, formulating effective questions, and adapting facilitation techniques to different participant profiles. Several participants also practiced leading trial dialogue sessions during the workshop, which strengthened their confidence and practical facilitation skills.

Impact
The workshop enhanced participants’ understanding of the facilitator’s role in shaping meaningful dialogue and improving the quality of participation. It also highlighted the importance of listening, interaction, and well-designed questions in turning dialogue into a productive civic and community tool.
