Overview
On 26 April 2025, Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA implemented a three-day physical training in Aleppo on institutional capacity building. The training was delivered by Wasim Alhaj and brought together 18 participants from GLOCA’s team and volunteer network.
Training Focus
The training focused on strengthening internal teamwork, institutional awareness, strategic thinking, and research capacities. It introduced participants to the difference between effective teams and traditional work groups, the foundations of trust, accountability, constructive dialogue, and results-oriented collaboration.

The training contributed to forming a more cohesive and capable team, with clearer understanding of roles and responsibilities. It also supported the initial formation of a research team linked to the Urban Observatory Program, identified priority research areas, and strengthened volunteers’ ability to engage in strategic planning and institutional development.
Impact
The activity strengthened institutional commitment, teamwork, transparency, and shared responsibility. It also created a foundation for future research cooperation with local and international partners, particularly in areas related to urban development, governance, and community-based research.
