As part of its commitment to civic engagement, democratic values, and youth empowerment, the Global Organization for Civil Society Advancement (GLOCA) organized the Shabab PRO Champions 2024-2025 Coordinator Elections in Idlib. The elections featured a competitive and democratic atmosphere, culminating in the victory of Mr. Nour Nabhan, who secured 40.7% of the votes.

Shabab PRO – A Program Merging Technology and Leadership

Shabab PRO is a virtual youth initiative designed to foster interaction, communication, and capacity-building among Syrian youth. The program includes thousands of university students and graduates residing in Syria, aged 18 to 39, aiming to enhance their skills in leadership, civic engagement, and advanced technical fields, thereby strengthening their role in community-building and shaping Syria’s future.

Amid increasing exclusion of national and ethnic identities, Shabab PRO seeks to provide a virtual homeland for Syrian youth across conflict zones, integrating knowledge, academic education, and cross-border networks to counteract exclusion and isolation while strengthening peace and social cohesion. The program fosters trust, idea exchange, and collaborative problem-solving, creating a dynamic environment for sustainable positive change and a more secure future.

Fostering Youth Leadership and Democratic Values

The elections took place in an atmosphere of constructive competition, featuring engaging campaigns and open debates where candidates presented their visions for the future development of the team and its role in community service. The event saw broad participation, reflecting GLOCA’s success in empowering youth and fostering future leaders through real democratic experiences.

GLOCA firmly believes that democracy starts with empowering youth and involving them in decision-making processes. Through its support for the Shabab PRO program and the Champions team, the organization is working to prepare a new generation of young leaders capable of driving positive change in their communities and promoting a culture of dialogue and collaboration.
