On April 11, 2023, the Shabab PRO Platform, one of the projects of Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA, organized a political seminar titled “Constitutional Culture and the Rule of Law in Syria.”

The seminar was presented by lawyer Anwar Al-Bunni, President of the Syrian Center for Legal Studies and Research, and moderated by journalist Aisha Sabri, Content Manager at Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA and supervisor of the Shabab PRO team.

The session introduced the concept and functions of a constitution and emphasized the importance of promoting public awareness of constitutional principles and the rule of law. It also examined the relationship between societal culture and the development of laws that protect rights and regulate public life.

The seminar highlighted the role of young people in discussing constitutional ideas, exchanging perspectives, and contributing to broader public awareness within the Shabab PRO community.

The discussion also addressed transitional justice, stressing that holding perpetrators accountable is one of its essential components. Other priorities include restoring victims’ rights and reforming unjust laws enacted by the Assad regime.
