On February 28, 2023, the Shabab PRO Platform, one of the projects of Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA, organized a seminar under its Youth Political Participation track titled “The Role of Youth and Women in Rebuilding Syria and the Syrian State.”

The seminar was presented by Iyad Al-Qudsi, President of the Syrian National Charter. It addressed the importance of supporting and empowering young women and men and strengthening their role in rebuilding public institutions.

The discussion also highlighted the proposal to establish a Syrian Children’s Parliament inside Syria and across the diaspora as a means of preserving children’s national identity and encouraging their early engagement in civic life.

Al-Qudsi reflected on the positive solidarity demonstrated by Syrian communities in response to the earthquake and its consequences. He also emphasized the need for a political transition leading to a transitional government and the departure of Bashar al-Assad.

The seminar concluded with questions from participants focusing on developing young people’s skills, expanding their awareness and openness, and ensuring their access to education, justice, and meaningful support.
