On March 20, 2023, the Shabab PRO Platform, one of the projects of Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA, organized a political seminar titled “U.S. Policy toward Syria.”

The seminar was presented by Ayman Abdel Nour, a Syrian political and media figure who provides public policy consultancy on Middle Eastern affairs to several organizations. It was moderated by journalist Aisha Sabri, Content Manager at Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA and supervisor of the Shabab PRO team.

The session emphasized the importance of enabling young people to understand the context of U.S. policy toward Syria. It also provided an overview of the U.S. system of governance and decision-making processes, with particular focus on foreign policy formulation.

The discussion addressed how the Syrian issue can be presented effectively to decision-makers in Washington and examined the role of Syrian actors in identifying and developing areas of mutual interest.

The seminar concluded with an open discussion, during which the speaker responded to participants’ questions clearly and transparently.
