On April 8, 2023, the Shabab PRO Platform, one of the projects of Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA, organized a political seminar titled “Arab and International Normalization with the Assad Regime.”

The seminar was presented by Dr. Abdulmonem Zeineddine, a writer and researcher holding a PhD in Islamic Economics, as well as an activist in the Syrian revolution who served as a general coordinator. It was moderated by journalist Aisha Sabri, Content Manager at Advancing Civil Society - GLOCA and supervisor of the Shabab PRO team.

The seminar examined the realities and dimensions of Arab and international normalization with the Assad regime. It also discussed the potential consequences of this process for the Syrian revolution, the Syrian people, and the states pursuing normalization.

The discussion highlighted the responsibility of Syrian youth in responding to political developments, preserving public awareness, and maintaining engagement with national issues.

Dr. Zeineddine concluded by encouraging young people to remain hopeful and resist despair. He stressed that the Syrian revolution represents the demands of a people seeking freedom and that Syria’s political future should ultimately be determined by the free will of its people.
